The Pro and Con Of
Giving
Children Homework
Homework is an activity or task assigned by
the teacher for students to do at home. Homework can be various and can be done
individually or in groups. Homework assignments can covers practices that
emphasize at the skills which have been obtained. There are a lot of
discussions whether children should be given homework or not. Is it enough for
children have time to study at school or need additional time at home for study
after school time?
Some people claim that children have enough
work at school. They also argue that children have their hobbies they want to
do after school, such as sports or listening music and helping parent's jobs.
Next, which they make is that a lot of homework are pointless and it does not
help the children learn at all. And children also need time for family and
rest.
However, there are also strong arguments
against this point of view. Parents and teachers argue that it is important to
know whether the children can work alone without support from teachers.
Teachers assign homework to be done by students at home. This task should can
train the children a sense of responsibility
with the complete homework. This homework also helps students develop management
time. They starts to devote time to learn and play, so they can complete their
scheduled tasks according to the time they have. Beside that, they claim that
the school day is too short to get something done
I think, give homework to students is a good
idea, but teachers also have to consider in giving homework to students,
whether the job can eliminate the students' breaks time and gather with family
or not.
